Frequently Asked Questions
Join us Sundays at New Covenant Methodist Church, a Beacon on the Hill. Fellowship begins at 10:30am, and service begins at 11:00am.
Also, Adult Sunday School meets at 9:30am in the dining area and the classroom.
Pastor Paul West is a native of Northwest Georgia. Married to his wife Teresa for 40 blessed years. They have two daughters Jessica and Lauren and one granddaughter Joliegh. He accepted Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of twelve years old during a revival and was baptized at Garden Lakes Baptist Church, Rome Ga.
Paul served honorably in the United States Navy for 14 years, transitioning his military training to employment with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Marietta Georgia. Paul spent 30 years working in engineering and supervision before retiring in 2020.
It was soon after retiring that Paul was called to serve his Lord and Savior and was ordained through Cartersville Outreach Ministry in May of 2023. Paul is a very humble servant of God whose ultimate desire is to serve God and his Son Christ Jesus faithfully and fully; to follow the command to make disciples of all nations.
Paul has been the interim pastor at New Covenant Methodist Church as well as Beacon on the Hill for the past two years. These two churches have now joined together as one church, New Covenant Methodism Church, “A Beacon on the Hill”.
Paul is very active in adult Sunday School and Bible Study groups. Small group studies are the heart of any church. Drive through Prayer, Nursing Home Prayer ministries are part of reaching out to those in the surrounding Bartow County community who are in need of prayer and compassion.
“And he has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists, and some with grace to be pastors, and some with grace to be teachers. And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12 TPT
New Covenant Methodist Church is doing something new as a church and body of Christ. We have founded a ministry team consisting of Pastor Paul West and a team of lay speakers who take turns sharing the message each week. Each member of the ministry team brings a different insight into God’s Holy Word.
The NCMC ministry team believes that the Holy Bible is God’s true Word and that the Holy Spirit indwells in each of us in order to teach us the truth of God’s Holy Word. We strive to focus on what the founder of Methodism, John Welsey focused on, the doctrine of salvation and the relationship between grace, faith, and holiness of heart and life.
The purpose for our ministry team is to prepare all holy believers to do their own works of ministry. This will enlarge the body of Christ, the church! The Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians, that there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
“We are all one in Christ Jesus”.
All elementary age children are welcome to learn about the Bible with fun lessons and activities during the worship service. Children’s School meets in the classroom during worship.

Music Ministry at New Covenant Methodist Church
Colossians 3:16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, sing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
Music is an integral part of worship at New Covenant. Our congregation loves to sing and lift our praise to God. We include a mixture of traditional hymns and modern worship songs. Our music is accompanied by piano, guitar or orchestrated tracks. Congregational singing is led by our worship leader and piano accompanist, and special music is presented by a mixed ensemble of singers. Musical styles include spirited hymns or worship songs, inspiring songs of praise, and traditional pieces. Solos, duets, and musical guests often join us. On Easter and Christmas, a traditional church choir comes together to rehearse and present special music. Our worship team seeks to keep the focus of the music on Christ and is often taken directly from scripture.
Our technical team is another important part of the worship experience. Sound technicians help to create an atmosphere in which the music is balanced and is comfortable for the congregation to hear. Our computer technician rounds out the team by creating slides that provide lyrics for all group singing. Lyrics are also sent out in a group email to all members of the church to refer to along with the Order of Worship. This precludes the printing of programs, and all information is available on phones.
Visit with us before service and enjoy some coffee, cocoa, or juice and a delicious pastry.
To learn more about joining the hospitality team, please contact Bedra Pechuman.
Middle and High school students will have a monthly activity to study the Bible, join in-service to others, and participate in a fun activity!
